All good things must come to an end eventually. Recently, with the expulsion of Daniel (aka. Noah) from his position in the community, and the underwhelming release of Build 500, it seems like the day it would all come crumbling down was fast approaching.

Today, the 21st of February 2024, was that day for the most popular and influential mayflower remade. In the days following Daniel’s departure from the community and being “side-lined”, chaos and unrest has swept New Haven County, with riots, revolt and the entirety of the Mayflower State Police having their operations suspended. The unrest was so bad that at one point, the Special Forces were deployed help suppress the unrest.

And then, for a little while, it was quiet. Things died down- maybe business as usual would resume under the new administration of Muustirr, perhaps shaken the community would live on- but no. Today at noon he posts a quick paragraph, implying his resignation which was then shortly carried out.

So what now?

As for the future, who knows? Many are switching to Ghostanova’s NHC, some waiting for Clark County or Melrose and some moving on with their lives (thank god). But it will take time to see what comes next, but its unlikely that any future remades will ever be this popular- perhaps a sign that Mayflower, as a brand, is over.

Though there is a silver lining to this all: with the Mayflower brand dying will perhaps usher in a new wave of original state-games will fulfill the same gap in the community that Mayflower did. KarlXYZ has spoken before on the topic and stated that he wanted Mayflower to die, and perhaps this is the final straw for “Mayflower” as we know it that will give way to this new era of ro-states.

Muustir and Eagleeye have returned to the team, and it has been said that Muustir will be making performance improvements to the game, but no major updates.
