Palmer, Ridgeway – Secretary of State Candidate ZoomMaarten gathered supporters of his campaign outside the Ridgeway County Hall on Sunday to demonstrate his party’s political strength.

The candidate, who called the rally amid his recent doubts about not winning the election, was met with an extreme show of force by law enforcement officers throughout the protest.

Upon the arrival of Palmer Police Department’s Tactical Response Unit, barricades and armored bearcats paraded throughout the street with the assistance of Pinkerton Security, signaling a show of force of the Palmer Police Department.

Halfway into the protest, the Ridgeway County Fire Department was called in, and such an engine left the nearby station, parking in the middle of the protest.

The first member of the RCFD who arrived on the scene was Lieutenant Omnilius, who angled their vehicle to be perpendicular to the protesters and the county hall. With the signal of multiple law enforcement officers, the Lieutenant began spraying down the peaceful protesters, including protesters behind the barricades who complied with the protest permit.

With the continuing spraying down of said protesters, multiple other Ridgeway County Fire Department members arrived on the scene, including Master Firefighter stas331, and Firefighter Grade II ToastedPueri.

We interviewed a member of RCFD Command after the incident, here’s what they had to say, “i got there and they were hosing people so i assumed that they were ordered to do so, i told them to hose people that crossed over the barrier and were violating the protest permit down, however they hosed everyone down – thankfully a hose does no damage but i’m glad nothing happened”

Secretary of State Candidate ZoomMaarten was seen throughout the rally, providing his help to his supporters and residents alike, following the end of the rally, we asked ZoomMaarten for his comment on the incident, and here’s what he had to say.

Unfortunately, as many witnesses would attest to, the peaceful political rally and authorized protest was cut short due to unforeseen incidents outside of my control, as well as the Ridgeway County Fire Department hosing down many attendees, which resulted in minor injuries such as hypothermia on some of my most loyal supporters. I am deeply saddened by this terrible act and ask for those injured to be compensated by the government. We cannot use this to take focus off the election as injured supporters attended to speak up against incompetent candidates in the race. I urge you to have your voice heard and to vote in this election if you have not already.

Secretary of State Candidate ZoomMaarten
