Lander City’s top cop has been ousted after months of alleged civil rights abuses, corruption, favoritism, and inactivity. Lieutenant Governor DevelopingNublets announced on September 28th that Chief of Police Coupists was officially being relieved of duty, after months of no response regarding an order from the Department of Justice to place a LCPD Officer on administrative leave pending investigation from the Mayflower Bureau of Investigation. Nublets stated “The behavior that LCPD command staff is exhibiting is simply toxic and harming the players who wish to have a good time and ‘larp’ as a police officer.”

The exact specifics of the lead up events remain murky, but insider sources indicate there is a direct correlation to the late-April press conference held by then-Attorney General notsfeelings, where he alleged that LCPD command members had forged the signature of a top Justice Department official on an official affidavit. Subsequent orders from the Department of Justice and the Mayflower Bureau of Investigation to place officers involved on administrative leave allegedly went ignored by the Chief for months, prompting the recent announcement from the Governor’s Office.

To fill the vacancy created by the forced departure of Coupists, Otamaleh, a State Senator and Captain within the LCPD has been nominated to fill the rather small shoes of his former top cop. Otamaleh was sworn into the office of Chief of Police earlier today, now starting his work on eliminating the corruption that has allegedly flooded the LCPD for months.
